Passion transformed into a profession
At the age of eight, Lorenzo Lazzarato began his studies with the violin and then went on to the double bass obtaining his diploma in 1993 at the “ G. Frescobaldi” Conservatory of Music in Ferrara.
He attended the bow making course held by Maestro G. Lucchi at the Professional Training Center of Cremona, obtaining the title of bowmaker in 1994.
For several years , under the guidance of Maestro Emilio Slaviero, he studied the art of restoration and design.
He gained an in-depth knowledge on the various techniques involved in bow making through his attendance at specialist training courses in England and France.
From 2011 to 2012, he took part, as a teacher, in the project ‘IFTS-Tecnico Superiore di Produzione’ (IFTS-Professional Specialization Courses) named “ Bow maker of string instruments”.
Then in 2014 and 2015, he continued as a teacher on the ‘IFTS-Tecnico Superiore di Produzione’ (IFTS-Professional Specialization Courses) project in the course entitled “Bow Restoration Expert”.
In the past few years he has been teaching in the “A.Stradivari” International School of Violin Making in Cremona where he holds courses on “Maintenance techniques and introduction to bow making”.
